School e mail from home:

To access School e mail you should type into Internet Explorer https://217.204.162.140/exchange and then enter your user name and password (leave the "domain name" blank). If presented with a dialog box asking do you wish to proceed click on "yes" or if Internet Explorer 7 click "continue". This method of accessing your mail gives you the same front end you see in School using Internet Explorer which will allow you access to old mail and also place a copy of the sent mail in the "sent" basket. This is secure access which transmits everything in an encrypted fashion.

Teachers' laptops: You will need to turn off the "proxy server settings" Open Internet Explorer click on Tools, Internet options, connections, LAN settings and untick the box use a proxy server ........ This will need to be ticked to allow connection in School.

File access from home

Students:
To access your files from home over the Internet type into Internet Explorer http://mail.reigategrammar.org:83/student then enter your user name and password as follows user rgs\"user name" without the speech marks. (Please note that it must be a back slash). If you check the box "save password" Internet Explorer will remember your user name for the future. Click on the appropriate folder(s) to navigate and when you reach the document you require either click on it and select save as or open or alternatively right click and choose "save as". You will not be able to save files to user areas.

Staff: The link is https://mail.reigategrammar.org and you should log on as "user name" only without the rgs prefix. The Navaho screen will show and you then click on "files". If you check the box "save password" Internet Explorer will remember your user name for the future.

The preferred solution is using FTP and we shall be providing all teachers with an ftp program installed on their laptops. If you prefer an FTP client on your home machine a free download is here.
